Moving forward...

The past month or so I have been given an opportunity to explore new horizons with a new company.  I have been working for WSU for nine years now, I love WSU! It is my alma mater, but not only that, I literally grew up on this campus. It's filled with people who I feel are family members and is considered a second home to me - truly. Since I was 10 years old I have only been disconnected from this school for maybe 3 years total. It has been loyal to me and I am grateful for the experiences I have had while here. Thus, choosing a new opportunity with a new company, for me, was a big deal. I know some of you may feel that is WEIRD! to have such a connection to a school/job, but I am a sentimental fool - "It's my one weakness!"

The new opportunity though has brought with it answers to some long waited prayers. I know that it is the right move for me right now. Some of the benefits are that I will be able to work from home thus being more accessible to my children and a bit of a pay increase, and who can argue with that. I will be working for the company SunGaurd Higher Education who is currently undergoing a merger with Datatel. In very basic terms my responsibility will be interpreting institution's catalog degree requirements and inputting them into the computer program so that students can pull up a check list of sorts that helps them see their progress. For those who attend WSU, they call it "CatTracks."  I love higher education and could not have asked for a better compromise of being home with my kids and still keep my foot in the door of the career field I love so much. Definitely a miracle from above.

As my time at WSU comes to an end I am feeling a little emotionally bipolar! So for those who interact with me in the next couple weeks - please be patient as I will most likely be a bit of an emotional mess. That said, be comforted, as I am, that it is the right path for me and any struggle will be met with faith, hope, and smiles all around.

Yellow...

My Friend Deanna asked to know her friend's color...

Let me say I didn't agree with this until I was much older and could see myself for who I am. I think it had to do with a Red mother and a White father??? I can be frustrating to Reds and if a White loves a Red.... well I bug them too! And no Yellow will tell you they are the problem... that is of course if they're not a 'healthy yellow.'

Really to get into this discussion you must read both The Color Code and The Character Code, and maybe go to a few training sessions? It's a lot of fun (typical yellow response). As for Blues - they LOVE me - and I LOVE them back cuz we give each other exactly what we want ;) I still love the Reds and Whites - I married to a White and have learned how to be in a healthy relationship with Reds. It's tough but I couldn't make it without them, just ask my sister Cha!

Yellows (Motive: Fun)

The following was taken from my Personality Profile after submiting my ColorCode test

Yellows are motivated by Fun. They are inviting and embrace life as a party that they're hosting. They love playful interaction and can be extremely sociable. They are highly persuasive and seek instant gratification. yellows need to be adored and praised. While yellows are carefree, they are sensitive and highly alert to others' agendas to control them. yellows typically carry within themselves the gift of a good heart.

Yellows need to look good socially, and friendships command a high priority in their lives. yellows are happy, articulate, engaging of others and crave adventure. Easily distracted, they can never sit still for long. They embrace each day in the "present tense" and choose people who, like themselves, enjoy a curious nature. yellows are charismatic, spontaneous, and positive; but can also be irresponsible, obnoxious, and forgetful. When you deal with a YELLOW, take a positive, upbeat approach and promote light-hearted, creative, and fun interactions.

WHY ME??

The day in the life of a woman who needs...

BUZZZZZ - the alarm,
BUZZZZZZZZ - the alarm again,
"MOM!!!" - three beautiful children (see pics) all needing help getting ready for school.

"Where's my socks?," "Where's my coat?," "I'm HUNGARY!," - is usually heard out of my mouth. I know, I know you thought it was my kids... nope, I'm the confused one!

We sit at the table and as I read to them they eat. I grab a FiberOne bar as we rush out the door usually late. Why? didn't you read - I couldn't find my socks.

Finally - I get to work - GO WILDCATS!
Now I sit at my desk where I see tons of college students on a daily basis with problems and questions such as;
"How do I study for ORGANIC CHEMISTRY?"
"How do I balance my life?"
"How do I pay for school?"

As I help them solve their problems I think to myself,
"How do I study for my Master's course?"
" How do I balance my life?"
and "How do I pay for school?"

Answers come and go... and everyday it's still the same... "???"

Well, the day is mostly over, I switch off the kids as my husband goes to school and work. As I kiss him goodnight at 4 in the afternoon, cuz I most likely will not see him unless I stay up past 10, he asks,
"How do I study for my History course?"
"How do I balance my life?"
and "How do I pay for school?"

"REALLY?" I ask... and then it happens - - I bust out with,
"LET'S GO GET A MASSAGE!"
He says, "really?" I then have to reply sadly due to the fact that any money we have goes to school, "nooo:(((."

How I dream to say one day - "YES,""YES,""YES!!" - well, you know what I mean.

Please, pick a woman on the edge! Did I mention - I AM ON THE EDGE!

oh and thanks for reading my entry... it was fun to do. For others reading - click either of the pics to find out more about this contest.
