I KNOW...

So the past couple of days have felt like my world has become heavier and heavier to carry. Little things just kept coming to a head. I have recently been called to be the 1st counselor of my Young Womens, which means I hold the mantel of taking care of the MiaMaids class (girls ages 15 & 16). Which are actually the same girls I 'advised' or taught when in the Beehive class. I guess they really are "MY GIRLS" and I am feeling it! I love them soooooo much, and they are going through some of the toughest times as a teen - Who am I? Where do I fit in? Adults really don't get me! - Life pressures and issues are more real then ever - and yet, I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVES and I know that these are some of the strongest young women I have ever known! So as I don't fear what is ahead for them in their lives, I still worry that they will forget who to turn to for help. I know sometime I do!

Today a good friend - what am I saying - a GREAT friend sent me the below youtube video. It was a great reminder of the season's spirit, as well as who we all can turn to when trying to accomplish life's goals - no matter how big or long it takes!

The first I found while trying to look for some free downloads. I love the Halloween pages and the great scrapbook ideas! SO YES I AM A FAN!

The second is a designer that is showcased on "Two Peas in a Bucket" site that I love to shop at... the site is The Project Girl. She has some cute freebies!

White Family Photoshoot... too fun.

My friend Laura asked that Catrina (my friend and her sister in-law) and I come take her family pictures for her. We had a lot of fun, and the kids were so great! I had to race them at one point... I was out of breath before I realized what I had said. Thanks Laura for letting me be a part of such a fun night!
I love this last photo.... so seventies!! Seriously, can't you hear it... "I'll build you a rainbow..." oh, man - I better stop before I get too mushy! Love you guys!

Swiss Days in Midway

My friends and I have been attending the Swiss Days festival in Midway for a few years now. It is always the weekend of Labor Day, and we usually go up Thursday night to Park City (about 20 min. away from Midway) and then head over around 7:30 in the morning. Some of my friends have been going for the past eight years. We have a great time together, and I am grateful to have these friends in my life. We did spend too much money, and could have stayed much longer. However, I got a darling new temple bag and the cutest hand made winter hats for me and Kenidy. I'll have to take pictures of us in them, cuz darn it - THEY ARE CUTE!! In any case, this was just a taste of what is to come - our SCRAP RETREAT. I am getting so excited, and will have to move up my count down so that it's up where I can see it...

Any way - if you have ever been to Swiss Days go ahead and let me know what your favorite thing about it is, or let me know why you don't go. I'd love to hear from you all -

Can hardly wait...

Every year my "Sassy" friends and I back up our kitchen sinks and then some extra fun stuff and head up to Park City for a "Scrapbook Retreat" at least that is how it all began. Sisters, cousins, friends, and neighbors found a common interest in creating beautiful pages of memories of our children a long time ago. Little did we know that three (a lot longer for some of us) years later we would have eternal friendships that are priceless. We have gone through many things together - some happy, some sad, some almost unbearable. And yet, every spring and fall we manage to convince our families that we need a break. First it was a couple, then three, and now four whole days away!! I think we are some of the luckiest women alive. Our "scrapbook retreat" is filled with shopping, food, hot-tub, food, movies, food, music, food, oh - and scrapbooking.... and yes MORE FOOD. Many times it is hard for us to get together, and finding the perfect date for the retreats is very hard. And yet - we MAKE it work. Just like a marriage, we don't always agree (thank heaven - how boring would that be), but we work at it - and the payoff, well I can't even begin to tell you all the things they do for me. It's the quick funny email of the latest Flight of the Concord video, a pizza when your sick, a girls lunch & movie, a quick "you would not believe what just happened to me" moment, finally - just knowing that they are there...
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
I have many friends (and I love them all!) but I want you Sassy's to know I am counting the seconds until our PC/SCRAP/CRY/LAUGH/BICKER/LOVE fest next week begins.

And don't you just love our feeties! The bottom right is of Trena loving the massage chairs and poor Cat didn't do her hair so we tried to help her feel a little better about going out for some lunch- I love you guys!!

Sassy BFFs - THANK YOU!

This past weekend my friends and I spent the weekend together 'scrapbooking'. We say scrapbooking, and usually we do get some scrap time in. However, we also watch old, fun, sad, and sometimes cheesy movies, listen to music, share stories and jokes, yell and scream about all kinds of injustices in the world, be a little bitty, and most of all show each other that it doesn't matter what the world might tell us about who we are and what we believe - WE ARE NOT ALONE AND NEVER WILL BE. How grateful I am for friends who love me no matter what. They take the time to listen to me and tell me the truth. We are not a perfect bunch - no really we're not - however, together we accomplish everything and then some.

Some of you may know I was raised by parents who were part of such a group, loving titled "THE PIGS" - from what I remember it stems from a pretty ronchy, but of coarse hillarious, joke my Uncle Guy told one night while they were all cramed in the back of a van coming home from a fun night out. I knew from the very begining of my adulthood that this is the kind of group I as well as my family would NEED to have. These are the same group (outside of family) of people who are considered family. When my mother passed away I was so grateful to have more mothers then I realized come to my aid. And because I was fairly young (19) they tell me stories about my mom and what she would do & say to us as kids. I can't tell you how much this means to me now that I am a mom. I cherish every thing you tell me about her!

As this Thanksgiving rolls through I want to show thanks to all the people in my life who have
'changed my life for good'.

TODAY I SAY THANKS TO MY FRIENDS & THOSE OF MY MOTHER!
I LOVE YOU ALL!

And the STORY...

Well - we had a lot of fun in Mexico with adventures left and right. And if you want to know more just ask us... running into Lisa at Walmart(which some of you may remember from Roy - lived in Aunt Sharee's ward), "I didn't come here to lose weight" and yet I think we all did, Snorkeling with Lisa and Russo on "Angel", tacos in town, BONANZA, the flood, BOO, the trek across the beach, getting in and out of the ocean - which by the way I am so sad, I recorded some of it and the camera wouldn't upload it...

So ask - all of it was so fun and ridiculously humorous.

I want to tell D & Cat how much I love them. They are great friends and I don't know if my life would be as great and exciting without them. THANKS LADIES (and husbands) for the amazingly fun time! Next the Caribbean? Hawaii? Europe?

Oh... that's right PARK CITY for scrap booking!!
FABULOUS!

What a BLAST!!!
